Plans

Ok, so I wanted to go throw th this last night but unfortunately when trying to update my laptop I ended up having to try and restore it leaving it over night as the % it increased was slow.  Alas though welcome the world of smart phones as I can update this via my smartphone.

Anyway enough of my real life problems

Ok with D&D I have multiple ideas of what I want to cover and as per normal I have plans of grandeur that if I even get half way through I will be happy.

So at the moment I have different strands of D&D that I want to go through:

  • Creating a charecter and learning the rules.  I have always been put off RPGs due to the size of the books involved.  Even creating your ow charecter can be complicated.  One of the section I want to give my journey through this.
  • Creating my own world and adventures.  The Dungeons Masters Guide is a wealth of knowledge and I want to use it to try and create my own world and eventually adventure.
  • Playing an adventure and finding people online to play with.  Yes I’m mainly a solo player so this is an added part of this how to find people online and trying to play online.
  • Although I believe I will eventually use an adventure (solo) to try and inspire myself to write a fantasy story.  That would be the pivotal moment of satisfaction through the blog.

So there we are plans a lot to work through but I am sure I will enjoy sharing this with yu and hopefully you will enjoy reading my updates.

Something new

So for something totally different than before.

I have never been into Dungeons and Dragons and roleplaying in general.  I have always looked and skirted around the edges thinking it would be good in terms of possibly expanding my creative juices but no more than that.  Recently though that has changed.

On watching Beasts of War recently I must admit that I have totally fallen for Dungeon Crawling, or should that be fallen back in love with it.  I first got into the hobby in the late 80’s/ eary 90s with Heroquest and Advanced Heroquest.  The upcoming Dungeon Saga has peeked this interest again.  At this poiint I have realised that I technically have always been into RPG’s in a way and that every wargame in some form in an RPG of type as you are telling the story of the battle you are playing.

D&D Books

So with this I have picked up a copy o the D&D Starter Set, Player’s Handbook, Dungeon Master’s guide and Monster Manual (while waiting on DUngeon Saga).

i also found a book I onced owned on ebay, Dungeoneer, part of the Advanced Fighting Fantasy series by Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone.

Dungeoneer

Between this and all the other material I see Dungeon Crawling/RPG’s are gonig to be a main focus of mine in the next few months.
